Products/Agency

Agency is a Client-Server based Desktop Application for Windows and Mac.
Why not a Web-based application?
Don't get us wrong, we here at OmniPilot love Web-based applications. But, we feel they are not right for every situation. Here are a few reasons that we believe OmniPilot Agency is a better application because it is a client-server based desktop application for Windows and Mac.

Data Security
As a client-server based desktop application, you utilize a server located in your office on your own internal network. The data resides on a machine that can be secured locally, and no hosting provider will ever have access to your prospects, customers, jobs, billing information, etc. The personnel on your network simply access the information over your local network, meaning that when they exit Agency, there is no data residing on the local machine. There is also no way to copy lists of customers and paste them into a document that could be sent outside the office, and nobody can shut off your database or system for any reason.

Formatting
As an agency or design firm, formatting you correspondence, estimates, invoices, etc, allows for much more control than a web based application. Bolds, italics, indents, bulletted lists, aligning center or right, none of these formatting options exist in web-based applications yet. We believe Agency gives you greater control of how you present your company to its prospects and clients.

Printing
Similar to formatting, a desktop based application has greater controls over printing. Specifically, printing a letter on three pages with a formatted logo in the header, and return address in the footer on all pages from Agency is standard. A Web based app would only put the header on the first page, and the footer on the last. And, the logo from a desktop application is higher resolution, ensuring the best quality print. Also, when running a batch of letters all personalized to say 300 prospects, Agency can print them all at once onto your letterhead with the click of a button.

Application Integration
With a desktop application, OmniPilot is able to integrate with QuickBooks Pro seamlessly using a plugin to allow the two programs to transfer information, eliminating the need for double entry, and allowing your accounting department to continue to use a program they know very well. More integration plugins are in the works for Agency with other desktop based accounting programs as well.
